Return of Yard of the Month!

Community –

We are proud to announce the return of the YARD OF THE MONTH. This year, Calloway’s have teamed up with Hillcrest Estates 121 to bring you a $25 gift certificate if you win! The yard of the Month will be chosen every month and announced here on the website.

To start things off, here is this months tip from Calloway’s:

Celebrate Earth Day this month and go “green” with Calloway’s Nursery. We offer many organic products to help you develop a “greener” environment. We also offer traditional solutions but for the gardener who is exploring the “greener” side here are a few ideas.

A successful garden begins with good soil. Organic material is important to the soil composition. It helps with drainage and increases the soil microbe population. Expanded shale is used to break up hard, compacted clay soils. Calloway’s Organic Fertilizer contains seven food-grade meals and can be applied to your lawn and other plantings. Applying molasses will help stimulate microorganisms and energize your plants. Top dress your flowerbeds and containers with organic mulches. They not only break down slowly putting organic material back into the soil but, they also prevent weeds, conserve moisture and cool the soil during the heat of the summer.

Other organic insecticides and fungicides are Neem Oil, Diatomaceous Earth and Insecticidal Soaps. These are products which are safe to use around pets and children. There are also beneficial insects available such as Ladybugs, Lacewings and Beneficial Nematodes! These guys will attack the pests and take care of them “naturally”.

National Night Out Wrap up – 2011

It was a HOT NATIONAL NIGHT OUT PARTY on Tuesday, August 2, 2011

We had about 65 or so come through- out the event and brave the heat and enjoy cold Sno Cones.

A huge Thank You to those who came out to support our neighborhood!

Chik-fil-a was awesome for braving the heat as a sponsor and set up a booth and brought brownies and a spinning wheel full of FREE coupons, stuffed cows and footballs for the kiddos.

Target, The National Night Out Sponsor, was on site, this was the only site they chose to visit all night because we contacted them and sent an invitation. They brought waters, and bags for the kiddos- filled with beach balls, sidewalk chalk, candy and NNO silly bands! These were a huge hit with the kids.

We had a Police bounce house on location and gave out sno-cones. Gattitown also donated desert pizzas!

Special Thanks to all our Sponsors, we could have done it without your help and support! Chick-fil-A and Target for coming out on site! Centennial Medical Center sponsored our flyers for the event, State Farm donated fans, we also had raffle prizes donated by Strixz, La Hacienda, Dave and Busters, Gattitown and the Frisco Police and Fire!

We were able to grab a bucket full of food to donate to Frisco Family Services. Thank you for your generosity!

Here are a few pics!

Don’t forget! Our Next HOA Event is Sunday, Oct. 23rd – Fall Festival!

Get Recycling at the Clean It & Green It event!
